week 7 Schools up!!!

Wasily Kandinsky

We have been doing art on an artist called Wassily Kandinsky. We drew led pencil lines and then used oil pastles and then we drew circles in each square and coloured the circles in. Next we drew buildings like in Wasily Kandinsky painting 'Houses in Munich'. First we did yellow for the ground then light green and then dark green. For the sky we used red, pink and white. For the buildings we had to do a bright colour like red,yellow,orange,light green, or pink. When they're finshed, they will look great.

week 3 new building time

Today builders are demolshing the after school care. It is probably half demolished by now. Many kids from our school have been watching the big crane taking all of the pieces of the building apart. We have seen it smash four windows at the moment. 2M and 2G have moved next to the building. The builders have smashed three doors. It is very violent but our four new classrooms are due to be finished in six months. The dust smells.They have taken away our play equipment and they have also taken three handball courts. Hopefully it will all be worth the wait when we have new equipment and new classrooms.

Halloween Disco! & Swimming Lessons!

After the school holidays we went to swimming lessons in the morning. We went on the bus to get there and then we got change into our swimming costume. There were groups called Goldfish,Seahorse and Dolphins. The groups had numbers and they went up to 15 Goldfish. Numbers go up to 5 & Seahorse numbers went up to 11 and Dolphins numbers have 15.

On friday it was the Halloween Disco we had food there. We played games like limbo makana musical statues. Miss Fritsch dressed up as a witch, Michael dressed up as a pirate and Laura dressed up as a vampire girl and Kate was a devil.

Week 8:Going to the Sydney Symphony Orchestra

Last week, on Wednesday K-2 went to the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Some of the songs sounded familar to us. We were there for about 3 and a half hours. Our friend Lachie got to go and do a dance. It was a bit dumb and you only got to walk while waving your hands up and down in groups of 2. Last year a school girl got to conduct the Sydney Syphony Orchestra and did a good job. We all got to do a chicken dance.
We had a great time there.

Gala day 2009

On Gala day we did a dance called Waltzing Matilda. Then we did a dance with year one. There was a ride called the Hanted House and a tea cup ride. All of the girls in 1/2F did a dance with Daniels dance group and then the parents came up and did it with them. There was sponge throwing. There was putt putt golf as well. There was saugasge sizzels and they were delicious. There was tomballa jars. Some of them had sweets and some had toys.

There was also an art Excerbision. We had a fantastic day at the Gala day.

Our Excursion to Sydney Olympic Park

On Thursday the 27th of August 2009 we went to the Sydney Olympic Park.The first thing we did was have recess. After recess we rolled down the hill.Then we met Hayley. She took us on a board walk. It was in a mangrove forest. Hayley gave us each a leaf. It had salt on it.Hayley taught us two frog calls. Then we caught water bugs. Next we looked at the dry forest with a magnifying glass.
It was a fun day at the Sydney Olympic Park.

Week5 Learning About Rainforest

Have you ever seen the Amazon rainforest? It`s the biggest rainforest in the world! Have you ever heard of the Canopy? It is the top of the rainforest. It can be 100 feet tall. It is very humid and wet. It is very dark and cold at the bottom of the rainforest because the Canopy has lots of leaves that block the sunlight. We are learning about wet and dry envirments in H.S.I.E. The rainforest is a very wet environment. We are looking forward to our excursion to Sydney Olympic Park on Thursday to visit the Mangrove forest.

Time Capsule & Athletics Carnival

Two weeks ago we buried a time capsule. There was a letter for ourselves and we put something special in a lunch bag. We will dig it up in four years time!
The athletices carnival was also last week. There was a girl race, boy race, kindi race, pre-school race and a mum and dad race.There were 1st 2nd & 3rd place. the 1st ribbon colour was blue, the 2nd was red and the 3rd was green. Laura got a first place ribbon. It was was a fun day!

Week9 EXCURSION

AAAAAAAAAAA!!! I don`t want the cane!!! We`ve gone back into the late 1800`s. Just joking! We went on an EXCURSION to the school house museum. We got to write with a nib pen on paper also a slate. This classroom was built in 1877. We got to do a maypole dance. It's easy! But when we write with an ink pen its not. It's easy to rub out slate.

Week 7:More Rain

Hi World!!! What are you doing?
We are wondering what your weather is like,ours is terrible. We aren't allowed to go on the grass. We have not bee n aloud on the grass for about four weeks. We hope you like our photo.

Week Six Dances

Last week all the year two girls in this class did a dance called like a mash potato.Then the year threes and fours did a dance called High School Musical.Then the year fives and sixes did a dance called The Charleston.There were four boys & the rest were girls. There were purple & silver dresses.
