Our Excursion to Sydney Olympic Park

On Thursday the 27th of August 2009 we went to the Sydney Olympic Park. The first thing we did was have recess. After recess we rolled down the hill. Then we met Hayley. She took us on a board walk. It was in a mangrove forest. Hayley gave us each a leaf. It had salt on it.Hayley taught us two frog calls. Then we caught water bugs. Next we looked at the dry forest with a magnifying glass.
It was a fun day at the Sydney Olympic Park.

Week5 Learning About Rainforest

Have you ever seen the Amazon rainforest? It`s the biggest rainforest in the world! Have you ever heard of the Canopy? It is the top of the rainforest. It can be 100 feet tall. It is very humid and wet. It is very dark and cold at the bottom of the rainforest because the Canopy has lots of leaves that block the sunlight. We are learning about wet and dry envirments in H.S.I.E. The rainforest is a very wet environment. We are looking forward to our excursion to Sydney Olympic Park on Thursday to visit the Mangrove forest.
